About Me

I'm ArtsyFoxo aka "Artsy", "Foxo" , or "Gray" to friends.

I'm a bisexual anthro (furry) artist based out of California who is a huge fan of comics as an artistic medium. I work digitally 90% of the time using Clip Studio Paint, though I plan to expand a bit further by eventually doing more traditional artworks when I have the money for that. I have a lot of artistic inspirations, and though they would be too much to list here. I got a few that come to mind: Katsuhiro Otomo, Khary Randolph, Emboss, Takeshi Obata, and Ryan Benjamin. Each one of them has a powerful style that my brain wants to analyze for hours and I work on trying to find my artistic voice through seeing how they handle theirs. They are all comic artists/illustrators. Comic books/comic styled art is one of my most preferred ways of exploring my art. Whether it's through how the lines and colors are placed down, or how the composition of the piece comes through. My #1 visualization method is with thinking of the piece as a comic book page.

I never really came from an artistic background. I was primarily someone who was in tech, so I always feel as if I'm a bit held back in comparison to my peers. This, unfortunately, has the effect of me being quite tough on myself in terms of where my art. I'm climbing the ladder of improvement, eternally searching to see where I can grow. I look at art I did a few months ago and say "Who was that? How could I have even drawn that? What's going on? Why is it to bad? I'd never make that mistake!". It's a lesson in figuring out myself. I hope that as I place works here, I can have a defined voice that you call can recognize. One that can be proud of itself.

So ya like comics? What do yours tend to be like?

Why do you draw this furry stuff?
